The establishment of the EOS in 2007 represented an important step on the way to improving South Tyrol's export performance. It created a single organization from several competence centres which combined their individual strengths to support South Tyrolean exports. EOS now functions as a service organization that assists South Tyrolean companies in their export ambitions. Since then, activities to develop new markets and collective marketing campaigns for quality South Tyrolean products are coordinated from a common platform. Collaboration with the
Chamber of Commerce, the Institute of Economic Research WIFO, and the Training Institute WIFI, increases the efficiency of EOS promotions. Its various activities are coordinated with South Tyrol Marketing SMG, South Tyrolean trade associations and other business-oriented organizations.
The varied workflows are implemented through controlled processes carried out under a documented quality management system which adheres to the principles of ISO 9001:2000. This special undertaking is marked by full administrative autonomy and a budgetary procedure modelled on private law and is therefore in a position to guarantee the required flexibility and speed needed for carrying out planned activities. The Export Organization of South Tyrol is aware of its economic, social and political responsibility and maintains an open communication policy.
